  6. XDME Excelsior Suite v1.40 - A suite of files and programs that makes XDME
  7. excel even more. Automatic selection of localized major modes: C, ARexx,
  8. HTML, Outlining, Text, etc.; Spell Checking; Diary Maintenance; Many
  9. Emacs-like features and keymappings; Pagination; XPK support; Various GTB
  10. and ReqTools requesters; Many other features.
  11.  
  12. Here are the latest features:
  13.  
  14.        I.   New and Improved Modes.
  15.  
  16.            A.   Many modes now have many insertion commands mapped to c-c
  17.                 combinations.  C mode lets you use c-c combinations to
  18.                 insert C code, HTML mode to insert HTML commands, etc.
  19.                 This feature is available in C, ARexx, HTML, Amigaguide,
  20.                 and Symbolic Logic modes.
  21.  
  22.            B.   HTML mode added.  It is based on html-mode.el for Emacs.
  23.  
  24.            C.   ARexx mode much improved.  It was buggy before, but now the
  25.                 tab key indents ARexx code almost as well as C mode indents
  26.                 C code.  It is less perfect only because ARexx has a much
  27.                 more complicated syntax than C has.
  28.  
  29.            D.   LISP mode for parentheses intensive programming languages.

  31.       II.   Useful new macros
  32.  
  33.            A.   Control macros
  34.  
  35.                1.   With the macros "do" and "when" I have created
  36.                     something like the SELECT-WHEN feature of ARexx or the
  37.                     switch-case feature of C.
  38.  
  39.                2.   The "until" macro works sort of like repeat-until in
  40.                     Pascal.  It goes through once and repeats until the
  41.                     condition is satisfied.
  42.  
  43.                3.   The "loop" macro creates an infinite loop.
  44.  
  45.                4.   "Fail?" forces an operation to go through even if it
  46.                     fails, and it sets $fail to 1 if the operation does
  47.                     fail.

  49.            B.   Search macros
  50.  
  51.                1.   I have implemented whole word searching with wsearch,
  52.                     wfind, and wprev.  Prev2 now does whole word searching.
  53.                     Closer? tells which of two words is closer, going
  54.                     backwards.
  55.  
  56.      III.   Modes and GUIs loaded only if they're used.  This saves on
  57.             memory and, more importantly for me, the time it takes for XDME
  58.             go through .edrc when it starts up.
  59.  
  60.       IV.   A GadToolsBox requester for AlphaSpell.
  61.  
  62.            A.   All unfound words appear in a listview.
  63.  
  64.            B.   It will learn words by saving them to a user dictionary.
  65.  
  66.            C.   It will guess at correct spellings for you.

  68.        V.   Install script.
  69.  
  70.       VI.   XES has been modularized. It no longer puts everything into
  71.             one big .edrc file.  Instead, it consists of several XDME
  72.             scripts, and it requires only one line in your .edrc file.
  73.  
  74.      VII.   ARexx scripts now go in XES:Rexx/ instead of REXX:.
  75.  
  76.     VIII.   Various bug fixes.
